Brett J. Parker
Author in Wellington, New Zealand
Brett J. Parker is a speculative fiction writer living his life in Wellington, New Zealand, with his husband, David.
Brett was born in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, in 1969. His work covers a wide range of genres and styles, so please read the backcover blurb for each individual book to make sure it appeals to you.
His first novel, Once Upon A World (Book 1 of 7 in the Miondor series), is coming soon!
Brett met David in Brisbane, Australia, in 1996, and they've been inseparable ever since. They travelled all over the world for eight years before choosing to live in Wellington, New Zealand, at the start of December, 2016. They dream of moving to Berlin :)
The guys were legally married in April, 2018, after Australia finally legalised same-sex marriage. They're disgusted with the way Australia normalised hate speech, with the government wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on a plebiscite which gave every nutjob a platform to spew hate and lies. That money could have gone towards locking up boat people.
(KIDDING! Australia's indefinite refugee detention policy is the main reason the guys won't live in Australia, paying taxes into an inherently racist system.)
Brett is a passionate advocate for mental health, and always struggles to raise awareness for Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). He follows the ketogenic diet to manage his mental and physical health issues.
When he isn't banging away at a keyboard, Brett enjoys photography, yoga, long walks, and forcing himself outside his comfort zone. His home is always open to travellers and backpackers. He loves coffee, people watching, puns, banter, and sarcasm.
Brett and David are lucky enough to have four wonderful godchildren, the offspring of their best friends who live in Brisbane. They also have an incredible godson-in-law who's like a son to them, and another branch of this beautiful extended family in Tasmania. They aren't related at all, but they're all family.
Brett's books are available exclusively at Amazon for all Kindle devices and apps. If you enjoy his work, tell your friends. If you don't, tell your enemies ;)
